DWM 407 Press Details

The 407th Doctor Who Magazine was released in newsagents across the UK today - and this month’s issue is packed with Planet of the Dead content!

There’s an exclusive interview with Michelle Ryan, who guest stars as the Doctor’s companion, Lady Christina de Souza, in the episode, which will transmit on BBC One and BBC HD on Easter Saturday at 6:45pm. In the interview, Ryan talks, amongst other things, about the sexual tension between the Doctor and Lady Christina.

“I think it’s a real meeting of minds,” she grins. ”He’s bowled over by how sassy and witty she is, and how she’s completely not in awe of him. It’s only as time goes on that she’s thinking, ‘There’s something special about you. You’re different to guys that I’ve met before…’”

There’s also a full preview of the Easter special, with never-before-published photos and exclusive interviews with the cast and crew, including director James Strong, producer Tracie Simpson, and the Doctor himself, David Tennant!

Meanwhile, Russell T Davies discusses the Tenth Doctor’s final words in this month’s edition of Production Notes, and in Starters, the Watcher returns to present his essential guide to everything you need to know about the Doctor’s first ever incarnation!

Plus, what do YOU think is the greatest Doctor Who story of all time? Now’s your pefect opportunity to let the world know, as DWM presents its biggest ever survey, featuring all 200 Doctor Who TV stories… and with the chance to win nearly £500 worth of DVDs!

As well as all of that, classic series writer Christopher H Bidmead talks frankly about working on Doctor Who back in the 1980s, the Doctor tries to rescue Majenta from the wedding from hell in this month’s comic, Mortal Beloved, by Dan McDaid, the Time Team meet the Kandyman in the 1988 Seventh Doctor Story, The Happiness Patrol, Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps star Sheridan Smith, who plays the Eighth Doctor’s companion Lucie Miller in the Doctor Who Audio Adventures, braves questions from the TARDIS tin, and Neil Harris reveals why it’s simply impossible these days to come up with a decent Doctor Who-related April Fool…
