Doctor Who The Musical

Producers are planning a 'Doctor Who musical extravaganza' for next year's Christmas special, according to a bizarre article in the Telegraph today.

The newspaper claims that the 2009 festive episode, which will see David Tennant's last appearance in the role of the Time Lord, may include some musical numbers.

It will also be the last episode to be written by Russell T Davies, and the executive producer wants to go out with a bang.

The report also claims that the musical episode could see the return of John Barrowman, as well as Billie Piper, who shot to fame in 1998 with the release of her first ever single, Because We Want To.

We don't quite understand this either, but we're pretty sure that it's just been a slow news day at Telegraph HQ. A very slow news day...
