The Doctor to appear in SJA

David Tennant joins the gang on Bannerman Road in an all new adventure and he's joined by K9. But who is getting married...?

This month's Doctor Who Magazine has revealed some details about the upcoming third series of The Sarah Jane Adventures. Executive producer Russell T Davies tells the publication that David Tennant will be starring in a two-part story due to be screened in the Autumn.

Also joining the Tenth Doctor is the robotic mutt, K9 but RTD is keen to stress that this is no fleeting appearance by David Tennant. The writer says, "... it's more than just a cameo from the Tenth Doctor! He's a proper part of the story." He also adds that the two-parter is "extraordinary, wild and powerfully moving," cryptically adding, "let's just say that the wedding of Sarah Jane will be a day for everyone to remember!"

The as yet unnamed tale is written by Gareth Roberts (The Unicorn and the Wasp) who has penned a number of stories for the award-winning show. Other writers for the Series 3 of SJA include Phil Ford (Eye of the Gorgon), Joseph Lidster (The Mark of the Berserker), Brian Dooley (creator of The Smoking Room) and Rupert Laight.

Den of Geek have some information about David Tenant in The Sarah Jane Adventures taken from DWM209.

David Tennant will be starring in a two-part story due to be screened in the Autumn, and this is not a cameo appearance, he has a proper part in the story.

Also Joining the Doctor is K9! The currently unnamed tale is written by Gareth Roberts.

Russell T Davies says The wedding of Sarah Jane will be a day for everyone to remember!

Series 3 of The Sarah Jane Adventures will see Sarah Jane and her friends joining forces with the Tenth Doctor when the TARDIS arrives on Bannerman Road.

It has been confirmed that David Tennant will be making a guest appearance in the CBBC series, meaning the Time Lord will be reunited with his old friend, Sarah Jane, as well as everybody’s favourite metal dog - K-9!

And it won’t be just a quick cameo either; the Doctor will be sticking around for two whole episodes (making up one story), to help Sarah Jane, Luke, Clyde, Rani and K-9 do battle with their greatest enemy yet!

As we’ve come to expect by now, the episodes and their content are being kept tightly under wraps, but we have been told that the story is written by Gareth Roberts, and as always show creator Russell T Davies has managed to sneak in a cryptic tease: “The wedding of Sarah Jane will be a day for everyone to remember!”

Series 3 of The Sarah Jane Adventures, starring Elisabeth Sladen, is currently being filmed in Cardiff, for transmission on BBC One this Autumn
