RTD Is honored OBE

Today Russell T Davies was honored an OBE (Order of the British Empire) The award was given to him by The Prince of wales where he wore a black suit an the ceremony was held at Buckingham Palace.

Russell T Davies, the writer who resurrected Doctor Who, has received his OBE from the Prince of Wales at Buckingham Palace.

Davies, who was appointed OBE for services to drama, wore a black suit and chatted with the Prince for nearly a minute after being given his honour.

The dramatist relaunched Doctor Who in 2005 with actor Christopher Eccleston in the lead role.

Davies recently said that the Prince snubbed an offer to appear on the show.

  • Knight Grand Cross Empire (GBE) or Dame Grand Cross (GBE)
  • Knight Commander Empire (KBE) or Dame Commander (DBE)
  • Commander (CBE) Commander of the British empire
  • Officer (OBE) Order of the British empire
  • Member (MBE) Member of the British empire
