News Round-Up

According to The BBC Press Office, The BBC have announced that a 3rd series or Series 3 of The Sarah Jane adventures has been commissioned or announced for the Autumn Schedule of 2009. Details are as follows:
The announcement that Doctor Who spin-off The Sarah Jane Adventures, the second series of which is currently being shown on BBC One and the CBBC Channel, will return for a third series in the autumn of 2009. The release states that the show will continue to be overseen by Russell T Davies, and that "together with her companions Rani and Clyde and her adopted son Luke, Sarah Jane once again comes face to face with a whole host of weird and wonderful alien beings."

On CBBC, Sarah Jane Smith (Elisabeth Sladen) returns for a third series of The Sarah Jane Adventures in Autumn 2009, produced by Doctor Who supremo Russell T Davies. Together with her companions Rani and Clyde and her adopted son Luke, Sarah Jane once again comes face to face with a whole host of weird and wonderful alien beings.

The Master Is Back (Possibly)
John Simm has ruled out the possibility of him starring in Doctor Who as the Eleventh Doctor, although he isn't ruling out a return to the show as another Time Lord - the Master!

The actor, who appeared in the Series 3 finale as the Doctor's arch-nemesis, told The Times that he has no interest in taking the lead role when David Tennant steps down next year.

"I'm the Master," he said. "Simple as that. I don't want to be Doctor Who. I might be the Master again... I'm not allowed to say."

The news comes after rumours that Simm will be reprising his role of the Master for one (or more) of next year's specials.
